Our courses are a world apart from those you will experience in most English Language schools. Our classes never exceed four in number, offering a very student-centred environment. On the first day of your course, we will conduct a detailed Needs Analysis and Proficiency Test, assessing exactly what you personally want to achieve from the course, and also what your problem areas are. This includes thorough testing of all English skills and a detailed phonetic analysis of your pronunciation.
Our initial assessment enables us to provide you with a highly individualised course; in addition to small group classes, we will target your personal problem areas using one-to-one lessons* and guided-self study sessions. Whenever you have a problem, we are always on hand to help.
Our course materials are carefully chosen from respected publishers such as Cambridge University Press. In addition to course books specific to your course, we provide a wealth of other materials taken from a variety of sources.
We advocate Accelerated Learning techniques and incorporate a variety of different mediums to help each individual learn as effectively as possible, and retain what they have learnt.
Our excursions and activities during the week are an opportunity for you to build on and practise the English you have learnt, and extra worksheets are available should you want more than just conversational practice. We try to encourage interaction with others during these trips, offering you the opportunity to practise your English with strangers; we set tasks for this on the worksheets.
We use special techniques in Ear Training and Pronunciation, helping you to overcome the problems of being misunderstood or misunderstanding others. This is an important part of learning English that is often ignored in conventional language schools.
We also provide a great deal of supplementary material for you to use during your free time. This includes a variety of media such as books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, self-study worksheets, and computer software programmes. Our guided self-study sessions allow our students to make the best use of the time they spend studying alone.
Our courses are completely immersive; you will be speaking English all day, even when you are not in lessons. We only take small groups because we want everyone to feel as if they are a part of our family and able to talk to any of us at any time. Small groups also allow us to focus on each individual much more than is possible in a larger school.
Learning English does not stop when you leave us - we also offer a post-course support programme that allows you to continue practising your English after you have left us. Please click here for details.
